Likely hike in food prices - It's definite!

Just a few weeks ago, I did mentioned about the possibility of an increase in  CP index.  So many coincidences  and late hour rhetoric with regards to expected increase in a lots of  basic consumer good in 2011. Now it's  real, price hike is inevitable on  almost - all essential food item. In 2010 increased in petrol price which to certain extent initiate the hike of basic food item such as rice, sugar, flour and many other things. Processed poultry like chicken now been capped at RM7.20 per kilogram, an almost 12% increase comparatively to what been retailed in 2009. The most staggering increase from 2009 through 2010 and now is sea food related product.
Almost all type of fish, prawns, sotong and others have increased tremendously surpassing the price of  beef and mutton which are regularly consume  "by those who really can afford it". (twice a week kind of consumption). Soon, sea product which is the best source of protein and good omega 3 nutrient will now made "unaffordable" to many of us Malaysian. The low - ordinary favored fish which are very popular amongst the ra'ayat  likes  kembong, cencaru, sardine and selar to say a few are been priced much above that of chicken per kilogram.
We just wonder how will the government endeavor to generate a high income population is inline with the exceptionally high increase of basic food item which is now taking the bigger share of their take home pay. So, the increase of CPI is more real now and the expected increase in interest on lending is in actual fact a pre-determined  decision by BNM and the financial sector will continue to enjoy good business in 2011, while the ra'ayat economic status will remain the same or the poor will soon be more poor cum pauper and those within the middle income group, some will join the new poor club.
