BUTTERWORTH: A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer, driving a BMW bearing a false road tax and car registration plate, was arrested on Sunday.The Putrajaya-based officer, in his 30s, was detained during a police roadblock near Jalan Chain Ferry here about 9pm.
A spokesman for the Seberang Prai Utara police declined to identify the man, but said the officer was from Kulim and held a middle management position at the MACC headquarters."The number plate did not match the registration on the road tax so we detained him. "We are also investigating to determine if the MACC officer can afford to own the vehicle." The spokesman did not rule out the possibility that the vehicle was stolen. It is learnt that the MACC officer, who was released on police bail yesterday, bought the car in Kulim.
Another debacle and wrong doing of public servant...sorry to say, a senior officer of the MACC. A serving civil servant which are suppose to uphold the bastion of no misdeed and wrongdoing..apa nak jadi.
